The dope music magazine Wax Poetics is having a huge sale on their back issues featuring covers from Al Green, Betty Davis, Ice Cube, The Ohio Players, Barry White, War, Daft Punk, Daryl Hall, Master P, Janelle Monae, Bishop Nehru, Gary Clark Jr. and the current issue featuring A Tribe Called Quest.
Wax Poetics was founded by Andre Torres, an avid crate digger, in 2001. Torres wanted to provide a publication for classic, underrated, independent and current funk, r&b, jazz, hip hop, disco, house, reggae, Latin and rock artist. The magazine highlights classic bands such as Sly and the Family Stone to 90’s rap groups like The Pharcyde to current artist like Janelle Monae.
The first issue was released on December 1st, 2001. Since then, 65 issues have been released with spreads including Prince and the Revolution, Michael Jackson and Frank Ocean. The company has also created books, apparel, films, and their own record label.
